BIS Purge Continues - Info Tech Chief, Deputy Out

Recent departures at the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) include the exit of senior officials from the Office of Information and Communications Technology and Services (OICTS), an office that has played an increasingly prominent role in national-security technology policy. Friday, Elizabeth “Liz” Cannon, executive director of OICTS, resigned after pressure from senior officials, with one of her deputies having been placed on administrative leave prior to departure.
